About / My story & companies

The person. The journey. The companies.

I am a digital nomad, mentor, investor, and entrepreneur building from Medellín, Colombia.

My work is simple to describe and difficult to do: generate demand, build teams, install systems, develop leaders, and help companies thrive beyond their founders.

The operator behind the portfolio

Freedom is not the end of the work. It is the freedom to choose better work.

Hi, I’m Brendan Hsu, a digital nomad, mentor, investor, and entrepreneur based in Medellín, Colombia. I’m the co-founder of Aerial Canvas and founder of ACRE Partner. In 2018, I joined my business partner Colby to help grow Aerial Canvas from a $10K-per-month operation in a storage unit to more than $700K per month, building a team of more than 50 people across four California markets.

As we developed leaders to run the day-to-day operation, my role shifted to adviser. Today, I focus on helping owners build stronger teams, install better systems, and create companies that can grow beyond their founders.

Through ACRE Partner, I’ve helped more than 150 agency owners grow their businesses, create greater financial independence, and reclaim time from daily operations.

A few more facts

  • I’ve helped more than six agency owners sell or exit their companies.
  • I host The Partners Podcast and publish two to three episodes each month.
  • I wrote The Art of the Dealmaker to help aspiring entrepreneurs build durable partnerships.

I look forward to aligning with like-minded entrepreneurs and creating more win-win partnerships.

Beyond the work

Build a life
worth sharing.

I live in Medellín with my wife Laura and our dogs, Odin and Theo. The path here has included failed businesses, difficult resets, and people who helped me find my footing again.

The wins matter. So do the lessons, and the people willing to tell you what you need to hear. Through mentoring and bringing people together, I want what I’ve learned to help someone else take their next step.

Let’s be all that we can B.

The current chapter

AI-native businesses, built for owner independence.

I am building Advisy, an AI infrastructure and orchestration company for owner-led businesses. We are not building another foundation model or chatbot. We connect AI tools, company knowledge, specialist agents, and workflows into a practical AI department that helps teams execute with less founder dependence.

The infrastructure is being designed around four layers: separated company context, scoped agent access, automated workflows, and human review. The goal is to give each business a useful AI operating layer while keeping its knowledge, permissions, and decisions under clear control.

Our first live product, OnCue by Advisy, gives sales and service teams realistic AI roleplay training and clear feedback before they speak with customers. We are starting in the industries where our operating experience runs deepest, then expanding through partners who understand their own markets.
